Here is such a car. The Jaguar XK140 drophead coupe is regarded as the most desirable of all the XK range. All of the shape and style of the 120 but a ‘better’ car in respect of the steering and critically the ergonomic experience for the driver and passenger. The XK120 dhc is beautiful but it was very hard to find a good seating position. The steering wheel was in your chest and the car just didn’t accommodate bigger people. The 140 dealt with those key short comings of the 120. The engine was moved 4 inches or 10cm’s forward and this created space to find a good driving position with more legroom and a sensible steering wheel position with rack and pinion mechanical improvement making it a much better car to steer too.
