Description

The classic car market in 2025 is an evolving one with taste and preference changing in front of our very eyes. However, class is class. Form is temporary but class is permanent. Without any doubt this example of the hitherto peerless E Type Jaguar holds itself as pure class. Rarely if ever have I had the chance to drive and admire a car as perfectly presented as this 1974 V12 roadster. IF you want the best of the best then read on.

Originally manufactured and exported in early 1974 this matching numbers roadster is presented in a condition that is better than it was new in 1974. This is the first car to have ever been awarded 100points in concours at the North American National Concours. This award was back in 1995 but the car presents in the same concours condition today. Back in 1995 the car was awarded this high accolade with just 20,000 original miles on the mileometer. Repatriated in 2020 the car shows a mere 20872 miles. Part of a small but very discerning collection the car has covered few miles but drives and presents ready for further concours or a grand touring adventure into Europe in the coming summer of 2025.

It is virtually impossible to fault this car in the way it looks and the way it drives. On the road it is a delight. The car feels tight and ‘new’. The steering is power assisted and on point. The legendary V12 has torque to waft the Jaguar along the highways and byways with such elegance and no small thrust of pace. The car is so good it is as though you are collecting the car from the showroom in 1974.

The car is brought to market with a comprehensive restoration log of photos and narrative from the Connecticut based restorer Stew Jones documenting a 9 month exhaustive nut and bolt rebuild to that 100point perfection award in 1995. The original book pack and JDHT come bound in a leather ‘folio’ folder.

I am conscious that my narrative and video present a ‘gushing’ opinion of this car. But I do not apologise for that as the car is that good.

Literally you could not build this car for anywhere near the asking price. Outstanding collector cars continue to be in favour and yes ordinary E Types have seen favour slip from their grasp in recent times. But this is no ordinary E Type and as such conscious of the cost to build a car such as this the discerning collector will surely see the value in adding this car to their collection.

We could not recommend this car more highly.
